I am about to start mixing a mini record that was recorded at the beginning of the year but got lost in the process. If the files turn up in the mail, things should be online in a few weeks or so. That is on SoundCloud, Facebook and the blog that is – iTunes takes a while, and Spotify takes even longer.
Guitars, guitars, guitars
Posted by jonas on Wednesday Dec 1, 2010 Under Recording
What a great way to spend your lunch break.
Christian and Mattias had an early start this morning and headed to the studio to record guitars tracks for the new EP. They were all set to record when I came along for some snap shots. I was later told that all guitar tracks for the three songs were finished by early afternoon! Chop-chop boys!
Drums and bass
Posted by christian on Tuesday Nov 16, 2010 Under RecordingLast Friday we were back in the studio, with GRP’s trusty producer, Mattias Johansson.
Molly, 158 and Keith now have recorded drums, badass bass and temporary guitar and vocals. In a couple of weeks it is guitar time, then vox and harmonica. Things are going along nicely, very nicely indeed. Who knew that practicing makes you better?
Yes GRP lives – and it is time for a new record!
Posted by christian on Sunday Oct 24, 2010 Under Gigs, Recording, StuffThings have been a bit quiet here on the blog lately. A combination of summer, travel, work and relations have kept the band busy. And we simply needed a break from gigging and recording for a while. And we had been playing the same songs for ages, and needed new material.
Now it is time to start things up again. The band has been rehearsing pretty much the whole time so we are better than ever. In November we’ll record a maxi with Mattias Johansson. Right now it looks as though Simon Vikokel will be mixing. So if things go well, you’ll have another Golden Rocket Pony record for the winter holidays!
What about concerts? Will I be able to see the band live anytime soon within this century? We’re have started working on it. At the moment we’re throwing around ideas about setting up our own party this winter and invite loads of people. A nice combination of playing parties and the occasional rock club in Malmö seems like the way forward.
More info soon… Y’all come back with your RSS readers ya hear!

Finishing Bocadillo
Posted by christian on Sunday Mar 14, 2010 Under RecordingMixing of the album is done. Mattias did an excellent job. So what’s next?
- Mastering. Simon Vikukel is going over the songs, giving them a final polish in order for them to sound their best on different speakers and for the songs to fit well together as an album.
- Album art. Morgan Alfredson at Truck Brother Productions is working on a design that will place this album at the front of everyone’s record collection. No pressure Morgan.
- Printing. Making the physical CD’s.
- Digital distribution. Making the album available on iTunes, Spotify, etc.
- Other packaging. Videos, posters, t-shirts, stickers, hats, oven mitts, etc

Five Minutes, Two Words
Posted by christian on Saturday Jan 16, 2010 Under RecordingTracking for the album is complete! All eleven songs have finally been recorded for “Bocadillo”, and mixing starts in about a week.
We made a little video of Mårten and Jonas recording the backup vocals for “Polystyrene Head”. It is all part of the creative process…
Christmas Mix
Posted by christian on Saturday Dec 19, 2009 Under RecordingMattias sent us a raw mix of how far we’ve come for Christmas. Things sound promising! I just realised we need to get Mr Hellsberg into the studio in order for him to say something in the breakdown of Unpleasant Man.
